Emotionally Impaired Self-contained &
Targeted Resource Classrooms

At Northside Elementary School

Criteria: 

A student placed in the EI Self-contained Classroom or the Targeted Resource Room requires intensive interventions to address disruptive and/or aggressive behaviors that have not been manageable in the general education setting with teacher consultant and/or resource room support. 

The Program: 

The self-contained and targeted resource classrooms provide individual and small group instruction using the District’s curriculum with modifications. The programs are based on positive behavior support, behavior modification, and are strongly influenced by therapeutic techniques. Both classrooms explore various learning styles and communication skills to help students express themselves in a more effective manner. Students receive individual and group school social work services and are supported by the Behavior Coordinator.
