Rec & Ed is offering a free ACT practice exam in the Pioneer cafeteria on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m.  This will be followed by a parent meeting on Thursday, Oct. 23 in the cafeteria at 6:30 p.m., during which parents will be provided with a free analysis of their child's test score and the state's ACT requirements.  Registration is required for both activities.  Interested students/parents can contact Rec & Ed at 994.2300, ext 53248.

Attention Christian Students!  Come and join Emmanuel's Christian Club on Fridays at lunch in C-123.  We are going to have a lot of activities!

Seniors!  Please bring college questions to the counseling conference room on Wednesdays and Fridays during lunch.

PHS Poet's Society meets every Tuesday during lunch in C-213.  Come to our meetings to read, write, and critique different forms of poetry.

Are You Interested in Creative Writing?  Come join Writer's Club!  We meet every Friday in C-313, Mr. Ashley's room, during lunch.

Attention Staff and Students!  LifeTouch Photography will be at school all day on Tuesday, Oct. 14th.  If you are not happy with your school pictures, bring them with you on that day and trade them for a retake. I f you have not had pictures taken yet, you may pick up a picture packet order form from the General Office.  Bring it with you on the 14th and have your pictures done in front of the Big Gym.

Gospel Choir will begin rehearsals on Wednesday during lunch in Ms. Westfield's classroom, also 7th hour in the choir room.  Listen for announcements!

The Global Improvement Society Canned Food Drive is starting this Wednesday.  Ask your 2nd hour teacher.  Food prizes are given to the top three classes!

Tomorrow After School, the Cafeteria will only be open to students attending after school tutoring.  Athletes will need to report to the Little Theater after school instead of the cafeteria.  This is only for Tuesday afternoon due to the Parent/Teacher Conference that evening.

Friday, Oct. 10 at 3:00 is the deadline for registering for the PSAT.  Juniors do not miss your only chance to take the PSAT.  Bring $20 to the General Office to register.

On Friday, Oct. 10 at 10:00 a midshipman from the US Naval Academy will be in the Career Center to speak to students interested in learning about the Naval College.

An Urgent Reminder: National Merit Semifinalist applications were due on Friday.  Scholars, please get your applications to the principal's secretary today!  Teachers, you may e-mail or leave recommendations in Lynn's mail box.
