Booster Club Mission

Welcome to the Pioneer High School 2008-09 athletic season. Pioneer High School has a rich tradition of academic and athletic excellence.  The Pioneer Athletic Booster Club members believe that academics and athletics go hand in hand for the success of our children.  The Booster Club is dedicated to the continued support of our student athletes, coaching staff, trainers, and athletic department programs.

The mission of the Ann Arbor Pioneer Booster Club is to:
    A.  Support athletic and academic excellence in all student athletes
    B.  Promote active and involved parent and community leadership
    C.  Promote sportsmanship and provide supplementary financial support to all Pioneer athletic teams.
    D.  Maintain the history and tradition of excellence, which exemplifies our student athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and teams.
In addition, the Booster Club acts as a liaison between the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education, district administration, teachers, staff, parents, coaches and student athletes to identify issues critical to the continued development and support of student athletic programs at Pioneer High School. We work in conjunction with our sister organization at Huron High School to promote all athletic programs within the Ann Arbor School District.

Some of the activities that the Booster Club has engaged in during the past year include: raising money to support our teams and programs and supporting a Pioneer Athletic Endowment at the Ann Arbor Community Area Foundation.   We sponsor five major fund raising activities: the concession stand at Hollway Field, rental of vendor spots on the corner of Stadium and AA Saline Rd. during U of M football games, an annual Endowment Dinner to raise money, participation in the Superball program and the Calendar of School Events which is sold to families.  The Booster Club has provided financial support to athletic department activities like the sportsmanship summit and Pioneer athletic ambassadors, managed a general Booster Club fund and made significant contributions to individual teams or programs based on their participation in fund raising activities. The Boostes have also presented informational programs for school personnel and families on Title IX and NCAA qualifications, served as a voice for families and supporters of student athletes on important issues such as the realignment of the schedule for boy's and girl's sports, "Pay for Play" and high school crowding. Lasty, The Booster Club has provided a venue for representatives from all sports to share issues of concern, ask questions and exchange ideas.

Who can belong to the Booster Club?

The Booster Club is open to all interested parents, teachers, coaches, staff, community and corporate leaders and students.  If our Booster Club is to be truly a representative body we need a representative from every sport at every meeting.  Please consider becoming a representative for your team on our team!

When and where does the Booster Club meet?

The Booster Club meets regularly each month except in July and December. The meetings are held on the third Monday beginning at 7:00 PM. The meetings are held in the little theater or athletic classroom at Pioneer High School.
