Protocol for Administering the SRI

"Scholastic Reading Inventory is a reading comprehension test that assesses students' reading levels, tracks students' reading growth over time, and helps guide instruction according to students' needs."

The SRI is administered to students in the AAPS READ 180 program three times per year in the Fall, Winter and Spring. The scores for these tests serve to track student progress over the course of the year and also to qualify them for exiting the program.
There are some general guidelines that should be followed when administering this test to students:
- Teachers should remain in the room with students until testing is completed
- If students have trouble focusing on the test in one sitting, test should be saved and completed at a later time
- If the student's score is not in line with other data (i.e. Fountas and Pinnell reading level or previous test scores), test should be readministered to ensure accurate results
