The Argus Planetarium

The Argus Planetarium was a gift from the Argus Camera Company, which had its headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

According to Ray Pittman, Pioneer High School class of '62, "The Argus Planetarium was donated at a time when the Argus Camera Company was a thriving business in Ann Arbor. Robert E. Lewis, Sr was President of Argus at the time. His son Bob Lewis Jr, was an outstanding leader in the Class of '56 but died an untimely death in 1960, drowning at the age of 21 trying to save a friend, following his graduation from Yale and joining the Army. Last Year, Bob was inducted into the Ann Arbor Pioneer High School Alumni Hall of Fame and all of his sisters returned for the ceremony."
